Weariness is a realm that can be overwhelming. Weariness is a robber; rob you of motivation, joy, and the zest for life. Weariness is a weight. Weariness is tiredness, fatigue, exhaustion, or collapse. Jesus described His generation as sheep without a shepherd, a generation that is faithless and perverse, and a generation of children playing in a playground that can never be pleased. Jesus cried out to His generation and if they would come to Him He would give them rest. This generation is not much different – only more exhausted. Weary of politics and government, weary of injustice, weary of the whinners, weary of immorality, and weary of religion. The offer still stands: REST.
